10 Best Selling Video Games Of 2015 - Ranked

5. Grand Theft Auto V (8.2 million)

Perhaps it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the best-selling video game of all time would still be raking in huge sales well into the year after the one in which it was originally released. Even less surprising when you consider that GTA V came out at the tail-end of 2014 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and early 2015 for PC. And in just about every way, GTA V deserves its successes. You can criticise the game's so-so story missions, dislikable characters, and simplistic combat mechanics on consoles, but these things are nitpicking a game that throws you into one of the most vibrant, detailed and largest open-worlds in video games. The current-gen remaster is brilliantly-crafted too, with some of the best graphics in the business and a well-designed new first-person mode. GTA V sold astronomically on all consoles, with PS4 sales approximately doubling those on the Xbox One (9.7m to 4.1m). As an interesting little indicator of who got the last laugh in the previous-gen console war, the PS3 version outsold the Xbox 360 version by a good 25% in total.
