10 Best Serial Killers In Open World Games
5. Morinth, The Ardat-Yakshi - Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 2 has a series of special 'loyalty missions' for each character and in Samara's case it is to chase down a deadly killer named Morinth. Your target is known as an Ardat-Yakshi, a name that in Asari means 'Demon of the Night Wind', which sounds like a badass ninja nom de guerre. But it's no ninja, it's actually a genetic defect that causes her to become a succubus - she kills partners she becomes intimate with and absorbs their strength.
Liara, in the third game in the series, warns Shepard that Ardat-Yakshi who kill often leave behind astronomical numbers of victims and can live many years to do so. Morinth has only been in the game for about four centuries, though. As Samara's daughter, the Asari Justicar has made it a bit of her life's quest to hunt down her hedonistic daughter and stop her.
When push comes to shove and Shepard stands nearby while Samara and Morinth battle to a standstill, the player has the option of aiding either one. If they aid Samara in killing Morinth, they secure Samara's loyalty. Or they can aid Morinth in killing Samara and the fugitive will take her mother's place on Shepard's crew, ultimately enabling the player to kill themselves by shacking up with her.
