It's far from the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, and far from the last, but TMNT: Turtles in Time is without a doubt the best. Turtles in Time debuted as an arcade game and quickly became Konami's best selling arcade game, but a little under a year later Turtles in Time would make its way to the SNES. Unlike majority of arcade games that were ported from arcade to home, Turtles in Time did not suffer one bit - in fact, in many ways, the port was actually an improvement over the cabinet version of the game.

For instance, five bosses were added to the SNES version as well as an entirely new level in the Technodrome. This level required to throw Foot Soldiers into an enemy in the foreground, a new feature that was brought in on the SNES version.

The presentation of Turtles in Time resembled the cartoon immensely, and received praise from critics on how well it stuck to its roots. Players were able to control one of the four turtles, and cabinets were made featuring either two or four player co-op, while the SNES version was limited to two players.

TMNT was on top of the world at the time of this games release, and a lot of people who were growing up at the time will remember playing this game and sinking hours of time into it with friends and family. Of course, it's not all about nostalgia and Turtles in Time delivered on the gameplay side and that's a reason it's remembered to this day.
