10 Best Super Nintendo Soundtracks

3. Earthbound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNGY_fvXUCY Easily one of the most original soundtracks, Earthbound featured music like no other game. Largely steering away from the typical RPG fare of atmospheric, angelic pieces, Earthbound followed its humorous plot with some very fun, lighthearted music. The music was composed by a trio consisting of Hiroshi Kanazu, Keiichi Suzuki and Hirokazu. Unlike other traditional composers, these three were heavily influenced by artists such as Randy Newman, Brian Wilson and Frank Zappa. John Lennon has been referred to as a very influential figure during the composition of the soundtrack. The game also features a variety of samples from such classic rock acts as The Beatles, The Doors and The Who. The music features funky bass lines, and bouncing leads, played on a variety of instruments, ranging from horns to synths to marimbas. These unique sounds and styles add to an already unique game. From the upbeat horns of Onett, to the dark, robotic, almost frightening sounds as you battle Giygas, this soundtrack will keep you humming along as you embark on one the greatest adventures ever.
