A number of iconic Fallout locations could have been used for this entry. Honourable mentions to Rivet City, Megaton and Diamond City as they are iconic locations in their own right, but for the best city in the Fallout Series it has to be the one which has an entire plot and game centred around it. New Vegas, the post apocalyptic successor of Las Vegas was spared the same nuclear annihilation that befell the Capital Wasteland of DC and the Commonwealth of Boston thanks to the genius (and considerable wealth) of Mr. Robert House. Under his guidance and leadership the New Vegas Strip was remade complete with casinos, hotels, bright lights and show girls.

Travelling to New Vegas from the players starting point and grinding through various side quests on the way takes up the early portion of the game but the anticipation that is built during the first play through (and even with later play throughs) makes the moment when you first lay eyes on the lights of the city all the more rewarding. Once the player arrives in New Vegas the fun is only just getting started. the Main quest line really kicks off and the factional aspects comes into force, but there are also a number of various smaller faction side quest linked the the various casinos that offer a real depth and variety of storytelling.

On the outer walls of the city, even the slums of New Vegas provide quests and adventure. Freeside is home to an even more outrageous faction than those found on the strip with the Kings, a group of thugs turned Samaritans who are styled like the King of rock and roll Elvis Presley and Westside provides a challenging battle ground for any courier looking to test their skills against the Fiend raider faction.

You've come a long way to settle a score with a certain sharp dressed man so while you're in New Vegas be sure to make the most of the fine dining a the Ultra-Luxe, the shows at the Tops Casino or indulge in your vices at Gomorrah. What ever your fancy, New Vegas is definitely the city for you.
