10 Best Video Game Reveals You Had To Find Yourself
4. Arkham City Tease - Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum is famous for many reasons: being the first truly great Batman game, having a revolutionary combat system that would be imitated by other games for years, and for packing a ton of content into a relatively small space. It's also famous for having one of the best secrets in video game history.
There is no indication that this secret exists. In fact, it doesn't even count towards your game completion. If the game tells you you've done everything, most people are inclined to believe it.
For no reason would anyone pick a totally inconspicuous wall in the warden's office, place three explosives on it, and detonate them all to reveal a room containing the blueprints for what would become Arkham City. It's a pretty big deal since it is, basically, a stealth sequel announcement.
Admittedly this one might be a technicality on this list. While developer Rocksteady intended for you to reveal this secret - you didn't. No one did. Rocksteady had to come right out and tell us about it. A valid lesson for game developers that there is such a thing as a secret being TOO secret.
