10 Best Video Games Based On TV Shows

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time

Konami created their best-selling game to date when this brawler hit arcades in 1991, with it boasting sharper graphics, better gameplay and a snazzier soundtrack than its predecessor, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The story is pretty much the type of fodder players were accustomed to seeing in the TV show while eating their Cheerios, with pudgy villain Krang robbing the Statue of Liberty and Shredder stepping into the fray to bait the shelled heroes into a ruckus. Gameplay-wise, Turtles In Time takes its nods from the likes of Final Fight by pitting the heroes in a host of settings - kudos to the SNES port for chucking in the Technodrome as an added level - and letting players run riot with a host of attack moves, slide attacks and chunky items such as manhole covers to wing at an unsuspecting Foot Soldier's loaf. With all four turtles available as a playable character, each with their own cool special attacks (although the best move of all, a jab combo followed by flinging an enemy at the screen, is available for all to enjoy) the game boasted addictiveness as well as longevity.
