10 Best Video Games Of 2021
4. Forza Horizon 5
It's been a LONG time coming, but Xbox finally had a stellar year for games across 2021. Comprising the best-performing version of Psychonauts 2 on Series X (a liquid butter 120fps), Halo Infinite being the best shooter of 2021 by an entire galaxy of distance, and Forza Horizon 5, a car and arcade racing lover's dream combo.
Very much carrying on where Horizon 4 left off, now the Horizon Festival has landed in Mexico, opening the game with you drifting around an active volcano, and not slowing down for a second after.
With the main Forza series having a bit of engine trouble after trying to add microtransactions and random car parts to Forza 7, it's been a joy seeing Playground Games' increasingly Burnout-like Horizon series only go from strength to strength.
Yes, we still need a return of high-octane racers in full - seriously, something like Split/Second running on new hardware would be incredible - but Horizon 5's runaway sales show this sim-meets-arcade mentality is going down a storm.
