With the release of Resident Evil Village on the horizon it's time to look back at the series' 24 year-long history, specifically at the many weapons that have been on offer to face the undead and not so undead horde with.
From handguns and knives to RPGs with unlimited ammo, the series is known for its whacky side as well as its horrific moments. However, not all of Resident Evil's arsenal will make you feel safe at night as some weapons are near useless or have so little ammo available that you're better off sticking with your trusty knife.
So here are some of the best and the most enjoyable weapons that you NEED to try before even thinking about taking on the 'Village' in the upcoming installment...
10. Lightning Hawk (RE2 Remake)
Magnums are always the way to go in RE (Resident Evil) and one of the more recent variants from the RE2 Remake also happens to be one of the best. The Lightning Hawk will make short work of any boss in the game and when combined with its long barrel and scope looks like a gorgeous pocket-sized sniper rifle with the firepower to match.
The Lightning Hawk is obtained by finding a hidden dongle and inserting it into the computer located in the S.T.A.R.S office, this gives the player access to the armory where you'll come face to face with this formidable weapon. The Lightning Hawk is easily one of the best weapons in the game and can make quick work of Mr. X, with it only taking a single headshot to dispose of him.
However, the Lightning Hawk uses .50 caliber ammunition which can scarcely be found in RE2 so knowing when to use this portable cannon becomes a challenge in itself, preventing you from powering your way through the game with ease.
