Strider is just about as action-packed a side-scrolling platformer as you'll ever find. The game is a reboot of the classic arcade and NES games, featuring gorgeous, retro-themed environments and effects through its explosive campaign. Strider centres around a futuristic ninja, as they fight their way through a dystopian city in order to assassinate the villainous Grandmaster Meio. It has a fairly interesting story as platformers go, but it's the Metroidvania style gameplay that offers the main attraction. There are fun new abilities available to unlock as the game progresses, and the combat centres around flashy use of both swords and guns.
