Who'd have thought that a title based on a casual 2D tower defense game would end up being one of the best multiplayer FPS games on the Xbox One? That's exactly what Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare manages to do though, managing the near-impossible task of being easy for casual players to get into, but deep enough to keep shooter vets interested. Reminiscent of Valve's classic Team Fortress 2, Garden Warfare has a charming, cartoony aesthetic that not only looks great, but helps to perfectly differentiate the different classes and characters. Similarly to games like Call of Duty, there's a meta progression present, allowing for the unlocking of a series of weapons and aesthetics, each more wacky than the last.
