10 Best Xbox One Multiplayer Games You Can Play Offline

7. Rayman Legends

Ubisoft

Not everyone wants their local multiplayer experience to be intense, emotional rollercoasters in which you're either screaming at your friends, or screaming with your friends at the game while giving each other overly forceful - borderline violent - high-fives or fist-bumps in your gaming frenzy.

While to me that sounds like the perfect multiplayer experience, we cater for all types here at WhatCulture, and the delightfully presented 2D platformer Rayman Legends is the perfect casual experience for you and up to two friends to kick back with. With regular checkpoints and infinite lives, the game isn't too punishing, and is a gentle, welcoming combination of classic platforming and puzzle gameplay.

But none of this would be incredibly compelling without Rayman's fantastic presentation and level variety. The game looks and sounds beautiful, from the eclectic level designs, to the casual whistling tune in the level-selection hub, right through to the animations of the limbless protagonist and his diverse enemies. It's as much a joy to behold as to play, and you'll happily spend a couple of hours coasting through it with friends until you get the urge for something more challenging.
