8. Halo 5: Guardians - Is It Too Much Like Call Of Duty?
There's only so many sequels you can do from a given gameplay formula - whether than be compacted into a tiny time-window like the yearly-released Assassin's Creeds, or expanded over many years like Grand Theft Auto. At some point people are going to tire of playing what is essentially the same thing over and, instead yearning for the next big title. It's an approach developers 343 seem to be taking with Halo 5, reprising the COD-like Kill-Cams first added in 4 that already annoyed plenty and putting more of a focus on aiming down the sights, not to mention switching out the voice over guy that's been with the franchise since the start. At some point you just have to break away from the more 'guaranteed' sales that come with a certain brand name and put stock into the future, rather than stretch and bolt on mechanics to something that was already a perfect standalone series with its own merits.
