10 Big Worries That Could Derail 2015’s Most Hyped Video Games

6. Star Wars: Battlefront - Will EA Ruin Star Wars With Micro-Transactions?

Not content with picking apart Mass Effect like some money-hungry pack of vultures, 2015 sees the most shameful cash-grabbing company of them all get their hands on a property that's open to a million and one different ideas for DLC - targeted at a fan-base more than acquainted with forgiveness and tolerance for the property they hold so dear. By twinning their award-winning Battlefield series with the Star Wars mythos, even at face value it opens scores of options for micro-transactions such as individual skins, random weapon packs and especially the maps themselves. Say Hoth is a pre-order exclusive that's then only available by purchasing from within the game - any fan would cough up a few notes to download it, netting EA tens of thousands instantly. Not only that, but both Battlefield 3 and 4 were renowned for being extremely buggy even months after release, showing that despite the gargantuan budgets thrown at projects like this, EA's testing division aren't exactly on the ball when it comes to putting customer satisfaction or ease of use first. If Battlefront releases with anything other than a menu devoted to 'optional paid-for add-ons' it'll be a miracle.
