10 Biggest Gaming Franchises With So Many Entries It's Just Offensive
7. Street Fighter
Easily the most confusing video game franchise of all time, to the casual player it's a real headache trying to work out how many Street Fighter games there have been and what they all mean. You see, there are five main street fighter games, Street Fighter I-IV, as well as Street Fighter Alpha, but each of these games is essentially a series onto itself, with countless arcade variations including Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting, Turbo, 2nd Impact, 3rd Strike, Ultra and so on (most of which were subsequently released for consoles as well). Then there's the various spin-offs and indirect titles, such as the Street Fighter EX series, Marvel vs. Capcom, SNK vs. Capcom, Street Fighter vs. Tekken, all of which have a few titles of their own, and even a video game based on the movie based on the video game (which is one of the worst-reviewed beat 'em ups of all time). It's amazing to me that the Street Fighter series hasn't achieved market over-saturation yet, given how the market is literally flooded with these titles.
