10 Biggest Lies Told By The Gaming Industry

1. E3

e3 I hope those few that read this take part in Tom€™s: E3 Drinking Game 2013 which I€™m going to elaborate closer to the date. The reason I bring it up because I noticed that each year, each company uses the same key words over and over again. Innovation, Future, Social, these words €“ among others €“ mean absolutely nothing in this industry anymore; they€™ve been sucked completely dry until only a husk remains. I hate those words, if innovation was a man €“ preferably a guy a lot smaller than me €“ I€™d kick him in the teeth and run away like the manly man I am. It€™s as if companies are afraid that using a different word would shock the audience into some form of cardiac arrest. Anyway, the reason E3 as a whole is number one on this list is because it encompasses everything on it. We see the representatives from each company natter on about this and that, lying to our faces; or in my case, my monitor. Sure we get to see snippets from upcoming games, but E3 has become more €“ not to sound like a smelly hippie €“ €˜commercial€™, as the years have progressed. I think having E3 isn€™t a bad thing, but the way its run is the problem. If I had the authority to govern E3, every party would have half an hour max, to show the world gameplay trailers one after the other with no talking or spokesman or any kind. Sure it€™ll be boring, but honest. ;)

Thomas James Hunt is a British Video Game Critic who is a rather unpleasant character in the journalism world. So brace yourself for some nasty behaviour in the form of articles.
