By far, the most annoying part about online gaming to date is the lags. Waiting for things to buffer or being kicked out of matches are reasons why Advil even exists in the first place. It wouldn't be crazy to assume at this point there could be something like decent internet connection easily accessible to the masses. However, it is still a beast that has yet to be conquered. Lags are like the annoying guy everybody prays doesn't show up to the party. The first couple hours are always great. You're having fun with your friends and you meet some cool new people. Without fail though, the door always cracks open and there he is. He's obnoxious and he butts himself in between your fun. Eventually, you decide to cut your losses and just leave. Providers feel the need to charge an arm, a leg and any other disposable body parts to have decent internet, and it's no wonder why so many games are ended because the host couldn't keep a connection. Lags are the worst thing to happen to video games since Sonic the Hedgehog came to modern consoles. To add insult to injury, cable companies are laughing at the expense of users all the way to their offshore accounts in Bermuda. Whatever the human race did wrong to deserve bad internet connection? Hopefully it can be paid off with the tears of video game connoisseurs across the globe. After all, one can only hope.
Hey, I'm Brandon. I love writing and reading and I study journalism, communication studies and business at the University of Rhode Island. My main passions are sports, music, TV, movies and a lot of other things that would take me way too long to write. WhatCulture is a great place for me to express myself so I'm looking to write as much as I can. Thanks for reading my work.
