It’s almost as though there’s a correlation between a game’s violent and gory leanings and the likelihood that the player will have to, say, venture inside the stomach of something huge and disgusting at some point during play.

Dead Space 3 may not be quite as beloved as the previous two titles in the series, sacrificing horror for action a little, but it certainly remained perfectly true to the roots of the series in one regard: poor Isaac Clarke would have to wade through another game’s worth of Necromorph viscera.

“Nexus-001” was reported to be one of a group of Nexi that exerts control over the Necromorphs. It was a vast insectoid creature that almost consumed both Isaac and Carver, though they were eventually able to kill it by targeting the clusters of nerves in its stomach cavity.
