Who would have thought that 2019 would deliver not one, but two killer titles from one of Japan's longest serving video game powerhouses. Considering where they were a few years ago, even Capcom might not have seen it coming either.
Both the Resident Evil 2 remake and Devil May Cry 5 delivered on both the critical and commercial front, reaffirming Capcom's recent return to popularity. That's not even mentioning the continued success of Monster Hunter World and a handful of recent re-releases on the Switch, including the somewhat forgotten Onimusha franchise.
With another big remake in Resident Evil 3 headlining a bumper 2020 release schedule, Capcom's success looks set to continue for some time to come, which at this point shouldn't come as a surprise at all.
