It wouldn't be a WhatCulture list if I didn't try and get a cheeky mention of a video game property turned board game in there somewhere, and in my opinion you can't get much better than the Steamforged games who have pretty much placed themselves as the prime source of Digital to Dice IP's.
Famous for breathing life into a Dark Souls Board game (and a card variant which is also excellent), the UK based team have also tackled the likes of Devil May Cry and Horizon Zero Dawn, but for me and my nostalgia their finest game has to be Resident Evil 2: The Board Game.
Crafted with exquisite attention and care for the source material, you and up to 3 other players can create a team of some of the most iconic characters of the original game (INCLUDING TOFU!) and take on the zombie hordes together. Throughout a lengthy campaign that uses modular tiles to create new and varied maps, you'll hit all the high points of the original game and even fill in some blanks between famous scenes, and yes that includes boss battles against horrific monsters.
What makes this game so enduring however is how it forces teamwork at all stages, and will have you drawing enemy attention, splitting up to collect items and then regrouping to provide fire support to one another. In short it's absolute bliss and you will decay long before your love for this game wanes.
