Triple-A gaming is a medium that comes with a boatload of great feelings, but there's a yin to that yang. For every amazing AAA experience, you get plenty that miss the mark.

It has become an all too familiar feeling for players to get their hands on a game they're incredibly excited about, only to find it in a broken, unplayable state. This has led to growing frustrations within the gaming community, as even the best studios can suffer from this, and no one wants to waste their money.

However, while it is easy to point the finger at developers and say, "You ruined my game," there are times when a broken title gets repaired, becoming closer to what they were originally promised as.

Some notable examples include the disastrous No Man's Sky, which Hello Games eventually turned into something special. Or, there's CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077, which was the laughing stock of the gaming world, only to get much better.

Still, there are plenty of games that were entirely written off, leading players to miss their unexpected redemptions. Pick them up today, and you'll be truly surprised by how much they've improved.

The infamous picture of a faceless Arno with his eyes and teeth exposed became the poster child for criticising Triple-A game development. That was the case then, but how does it stand now?

Shockingly, the game is much better if you pick it up today. Those monstrous bugs have been mostly ironed out, and the core game presents you with a classic Assassin's Creed experience.

The patches have turned Unity into a much better product, and it's hard to think of a better option if you want to re-live the old-school simplicity of this series. Plus, losing these technical issues helps you to focus on the game's best-selling points, like the gorgeous Paris setting.

Many were, rightfully, quick to write this one off upon its release, which is why not enough people know how much it has improved.
