10 Brutal Video Games That Kill You IMMEDIATELY
1. Ninja Gaiden 2
Ninja Gaiden is an infamously difficult series of video games, and the second instalment of the franchise certainly lives up to this label.
You are Ryu Hayabusa, a master ninja, both revered and feared throughout the world. The opening cutscene takes place in Tokyo where a CIA operative codenamed 'Sonia' asks after Ryu's whereabouts.
She is then set upon by the Black Spider Ninja Clan, who kidnap her after outnumbering Ryu.
These enemies use a combination of katanas and tri-bladed gauntlets in their fighting, and although they are the base enemies of the game, they are no pushover by any means.
Ryu rarely fights fewer than four of these foes at any one time - including the very first fight of the game directly following the opening cutscene - and these ninjas did not attend the school of attacking the hero one at a time.
So whilst Ryu is having to fend off attacks from potentially four enemies at once, it can also take fifteen hits to kill even one of them. Talk about sword sponge.
Players who have mastered the fighting style in Ninja Gaiden will most likely find these enemies easy to dispose of, and button-spammers may get by just the same, but newer players will certainly be in for a difficult run from the very start.
