10 Bullsh*t Video Game Deaths You Just Had To Live With
7. The Behemoth "Deadeye" - Final Fantasy XV
Of course, it isn’t unusual for open world RPGs to present players with enemy-hunting sidequests. They’re great opportunities to earn some money, equipment, experience and test gamers’ combat abilities against higher levelled opponents.
It’s often tough to feel a lot of remorse for taking down mobs, minibosses and such during these missions. After all, they’re just as keen to take you and your party down, aren’t they? Final Fantasy XV’s hunting mission A Behemoth Undertaking really does have a way of making the player feel terrible, though.
This quest sees Noctis and the party hunting a huge and aggressive Behemoth (no, there isn’t any other kind). This particular beast is nicknamed Deadeye, as it is blind in one eye, as well as having a broken horn.
Now, Deadeye isn’t blameless.
It has been causing devastation in the area surrounding the Chocobo outpost, hence the mission to kill it. The manner of doing so, however, is incredibly drawn-out. Unlike other hunting missions, the player first has to track Deadeye in a protracted stealth section (which was quite the pain before being patched). Then, it has to be lured into an area where it can be set aflame by explosive barrels.
All the team have a role to play in the onslaught, which just seems outright cruel to the miserable, suffering creature.
