10 Burning Questions Nintendo Have Left Unanswered For 2019

6. What Happened To Bayonetta 3?

Platinum Games' all-new Astral Chain was a great surprise announcement at this recent Direct, perhaps the best announcement of them all.

Boasting gorgeous manga-inspired graphics, brilliant combat and depth of story, the best bit is that it's only months away from release, due August 2019. Not only that, but it has a trio of big names on board: Manga legend Masakazu Katsura on character design, Bayonetta's Hideki Kamiya supervising the project and direction from NieR's Takahisa Taura. It's the kind of game that instantly gains a following, not just from the way it looks but from the reputation behind the creators.

That said, we're past four years since Bayonetta 2, and the anticipation for Bayonetta 3 is sky high: not just because Bayonetta herself has become a popular Smash Bros. character, but because Platinum deliver superb results time after time, with not just graphics, but deep and satisfying combat systems, too.

Platinum Games are miracle-makers when it comes to Nintendo systems. Why can't we catch a wee glimpse of the alchemy they're using on the Nintendo Switch for Bayonetta 3? Hearing that a team are hard at work is just a reminder of that old saying: "A picture paints a thousand words."

We want to see it, not just hear about it.
