10 Celebrities You Couldn't Take Seriously In Video Games
4. Jessica Chobot - Mass Effect 3
The Mass Effect franchise has arguably the most consistently brilliant voice acting in any video game franchise, where even the most minor part is performed with total conviction.
With one exception, that is.
In Mass Effect 3, BioWare decided to indulge in a spot of stunt casting by hiring games media personality Jessica Chobot to portray war reporter and love interest Diana Allers.
Given that Chobot was a notable industry figure in 2012 when Mass Effect 3 was released, seeing her voice and especially her facial likeness in the game was immensely jarring.
It didn't help that Chobot's performance stuck out compared to the rest of the cast, and while it's certainly not her fault that she's not a professional voice actor, this is clearly a case where hiring a Personality for a performance wasn't the right call.
Furthermore, many fans decried that Allers appeared to replace the series' pre-existing journalist love interest character Emily Wong, who was voiced with considerably greater skill by Anndi McAfee yet proved conspicuously absent from Mass Effect 3.
