The American metal band have a healthy relationship with Treyarch and the Call of Duty franchise, having written original songs for the Black Ops series and appearing in Call of Duty Black Ops II.

Their first affiliation with the titan of a series was in the original Black Ops, composing the track Not Ready to Die for the Zombies map Call of the Dead and then having their commercially released song “Nightmare” used as a hidden Easter egg in the DLC map Moon.

They then featured in the post-credit scenes of Black Ops II, in a non-canonical epilogue of the campaign. All one has to do to see Synyster Gates and co is complete the campaign on any difficulty and watch the credits to completion. Doing so will treat you to a humorous ending with Woods and Menendez, as well as a performance of the song Carry On (originally meant to be implemented in the Zombie map TranZit) featuring a cast of the characters in Club Solar.

The band also produced the song Jade Helm for Black Ops III and in 2018’s Black Ops 4 they wrote the song Mad Hatter.
