8. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - Dark Link

It is said that mankind's greatest foe is himself, and in this instance it's very, very literal.

The Water Temple in Ocarina of Time is already regarded as an absolute pain to navigate. Backtracking, raising and lowering water levels, it gets frustrating.

But the zenith is a mid-point sub-boss in the form of Link's dark doppelganger. An exact copy, it even copies every single move players throw at it. It can absolutely frustrating, clanging sword against sword and not getting an attack in edgeways.

Want to try and catch it out with some strafing and backflips? Well, you may as well be doing those in front of a mirror for all the effect it has on the evil shadowy thing before you.

Unless you had a friend of a friend that knew the hammer exploit (being pre-internet for a lot of people), players could be here for a long time.

Attrition and patience can only go so far, with many citing this as a reason for getting stuck at this particular embuggerance in gaming history.

Curse you... other me.
