10 Character Builds That Broke Recent Video Games
4. Stealth Stalker - Horizon Forbidden West
This build was so ridiculously game-breaking that Guerrilla Games made it one of their first big nerfs following the release of Horizon Forbidden West. And yet, even in its 'balanced' form, it's still one of the most overpowered ways of playing the game.
The Stealth Stalker build revolves around the combination of the Stealth Stalker Valor Surge skill with the Forgefall Sharpshot Bow. Fully levelled up, the Valor Surge had the potential to deal up to 200% extra damage to unaware enemies, and when combined with the Forgefall Bow, the Braced Shot ability and the Nora Thunder outfit, players quickly discover they can do 10,000 damage in one go.
This one-shotting of almost all the game's machines was not something Guerrilla were ever going to allow, but even the Stealth Stalker's post-nerf stats are still mightily impressive. 200% extra damage has been capped at 50%, so the endless one-shotting is mostly a thing of the past.
However, there is still a lot of damage potential with the build, with added benefits coming whilst a player is in the shadows, away from the fight.
