Morlun is a powerful character who is a part of a family called the Inheritors. As mentioned in the previous entry, the villain has been a major threat to all Spider-Men across the multiverse as he hunts all Spider totems as part of a prophecy.

Coming Home presents Spider-Man with a major challenge, and an ongoing battle which results in Spider-Man fleeing a number of times just to stay alive. Readers were left with the real possibility that Spider-Man would not be able to beat this foe, and having those stakes in the Insomniac sequel would make the game a real challenge for gamers to overcome.

Having a foe as powerful as Morlun opens up a new challenge for players, as he's a terrifying threat who is able to take down the Web Slinger almost easily. Having his appearance in the sequel before a Spider-Verse game would also be a good way of introducing the concept of the Inheritors to casual fans, before diving deep into the multiverse spanning story.

Morlun is recognisable from being the character to temporarily kill the Earth-616 Spider-Man in the story titled Spider-Man: The Other, which brought forth the mystical aspect of the Wall Crawler's abilities - which could also be a welcome addition to Insomniac's Spider-Man.
