10 Classic Video Games Clocked In Ridiculous Speed-Runs
9. Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII (7 for the uneducated) was a gargantuan PlayStation title that unquestionably cemented the series into the homes of millions of western gamers. An epic spread across four discs easily offering up to one hundred hours of turn based lunacy to savour. Andrew 'Farringa' Farrington registered a cool 7hrs 41mins that still stands as the official record today, despite what you may come across on YouTube. Andrew worked on achieving the record for over a year where he said he also got married, finished college and had foot operations. Hopefully this record is the highlight of that year instead of the marriage or we'll all be disappointed. Final Fantasy VII isn't the most sought after record due to the size of the game considering the speed-run is still longer than many steady paced runs of other retail titles. To date, Andrew is the only man brave enough to give it a go under the official rules and plaudits agree his 7hr 41min is impressive. The run isn't available on YouTube as Andrew has divided it up into segments, but you can view and read more on his page at the official speed-run website.
