10 Classic Xbox 360 Games You Can Play Soon On Xbox One

3. Dead Space

Only one Dead Space has made the backwards compatibility list so far, and I'm grateful to see that it's the first one. There's nothing wrong with its more action-oriented sequels, but the original is still worth owning today because survival horror games are in such short supply (though hopefully the critical success of Alien: Isolation will help the genre flourish). The game sees you wandering around the rusty, dried-blood-stained corridors of the spaceship Ishimura in search of your girlfriend. With no UI to incessantly reassure you that it's 'just a game', limited supplies of anything useful and horrific humanoid creatures pursuing that can only be killed by dismembering their limbs, it's a harrowing experience that few Xbox One games can match. While there is violence in abundance, Dead Space is much more subtle than its sequels, and more terrifying. If you're into nerve-shredding games best appreciated in darkness, solitude and with a massive pair of headphones, then this remains one of the best experiences you can get.
