10 Co-Op Video Games That Created More Enemies Than Friends
7. Portal 2 Always Makes One Player Feel Stupid
The most frustrating aspect of Portal 2 is watching someone else play it after you've already beaten it. The games So brilliant its obvious puzzle-design often makes you feel pretty stupid for not seeing the solution earlier and makes watching someone else go through that same brainstorming process akin to torture.
Never is this process more painful than in the games legendary co-op mode. Unless you so happen to have the perfect match of two people who havent played the game yet, a run through this mode can break even the strongest of relationships.
The player who knows what they are doing just wants to turn the experience into a speed-run, while the noob hopes they'll shut up long enough to let them discover the game themselves. While Valve no doubt had the intentions of creating a multiplayer puzzle game that allowed players to share the joy of discovery, what they really created was a social experiment that proves intelligent design can be undone by a couple of primates who would rather just beat each other to a pulp.
