3. The Catacombs - Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
As terrific as the original Turok is, it definitely suffered from a few over-designed levels, and none more so than the fifth level, the Catacombs.
The Catacombs were, simply, a sadistic exercise in chastising players, an almost laughably huge interconnected network of passageways, tunnels, and crawl spaces, primed to leave players with little idea of quite where the hell they were going.
That's not to say the level isn't fun to a point, but the suffocating familiarity of the environment makes it an absolute headache to navigate, to say nothing of the slew of enemies you'll find waiting for you throughout.
Again, you can spare yourself a ton of strife and just use a guide, or risk frittering away precious hours of your life trying to figure this damn thing out.
