10 Creepiest Video Game Boss Designs

9. Falling Woman - Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly

Falling Woman Fatal Frame II
Tecmo

Okay, Falling Woman isn’t strictly a boss, but she still haunts my personal nightmares so I think that earns her a spot here.

Fatal Frame II already has the perfect conceit for scaring the sh*t out of you. You have to pull out your camera and take a picture of its ghostly enemies to do any damage to them and you’ll do the most damage if they’re about to launch their spooky selves right at you. The Falling Woman is particularly gruesome as she literally falls, screaming from the ceiling, and you have to head down to snap a picture to exorcise her. All the while she’s crawling backwards toward you on her broken limbs. When you get too far away you’ll lose her and she’ll fall from the ceiling and jump scare you all over again.
