10 Crippling Issues That Could Kill Pokémon GO

1. Server Stability & Timer-Based Items

The inevitable issue, but one that as an umbrella term has dogged gaming this decade in everything from Pokémon GO to SimCity, Halo's Master Chief Collection to The Division.

Every server-based game with a sizeable fanbase will always have downtime and issues. Perhaps this is something we just need to accept, but just as inevitable is the disappointment felt when you can't access the game for hours at a time.

It's especially annoying as many of the items in-game are predicated on timers - the likes of Lures, Incense and Lucky Eggs all count down regardless of whether the server stays active when you've deployed them, and if the game crashes, you could be losing out on using items you've actually paid real money for.

Not good.

With any luck, Niantic will use the outstanding amount of money raised to reinvest in the sort of stable servers that prop up titans of the industry like Destiny and Overwatch, because if not, every passing day makes them less and less acceptable.
