10 Deceptively Innocent Games With Incredibly Dark Lore
3. Olive's Murders - The Sims 2
If there's one thing that can be said about the Sims series, it's that the Sims are really, really weird. Between woohoo'ing ghosts and playing rock-paper-scissors with the Grim Reaper himself, the games enjoy mixing the dark with the silly.
However, in The Sims 2, there is a pre-made family called the Specters. The matron of the Specters, Olive, is hinted to be a serial killer responsible for the deaths of over twenty Sims buried in her backyard.
According to her memories, Olive fell in love with the Grim Reaper at a young age and began to kill people so she could summon her forbidden lover and spend a brief moment together. Her preferred method of luring her victims was to seduce and marry them, which is why she had inherited a great fortune.
For a cartoony simulation game, this is some pretty heavy stuff. The only thing that could make Olive's crimes any more messed up is if she killed some of her victims by removing the ladder from their pool.
