10 Demos That Made You AVOID Video Games

9. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the spiritual successor to FatShark's previous two Warhammer games, Vermintide and its sequel. Unlike those games, however, which take place in the fantasy Warhammer setting, Darktide is set in the sci-fi Warhammer 40k universe.

All of the games are heavily influenced by Valve's Left 4 Dead series, seeing four players survive against swarms of enemies using various weapons and abilities. Naturally, one would expect Darktide to build on the previous two games.

Unfortunately, one would be wrong.

In another example of, "Why even release a demo when you know your game is lacking", fans immediately saw that what should be the best and biggest game of the series was sorely lacking compared to its predecessors, showing the vestigial remains of features that were never fully implemented. Not to mention its technical issues, like frequent crashing and poor balance of weapons and enemies.

Gamers are, unfortunately, used to purchasing games only to realize that they've been released in an unpolished or downright unfinished state. But when your demo doesn't even feel finished? That's not good for anybody.
