10 DISASTROUS Attempts At Forcing Game Franchises To Continue

7. Mario Party: The Top 100

Mario Party has been a major seller, ever since the board-game adventure title debuted in 1998. But in terms of quality, no entry has surpassed the original.

Hoping for Mario Party to return to his former glory, Nintendo hired NdCube to release a compilation on the 3DS, consisting of the hundred best mini-games. Since Mario Party: The Top 100 only included the tried-and-tested mini-games everyone loved, it seemed impossible for the developers to screw it up.

However, NdCube put such effort in getting the mini-games right, they neglected everything else. Firstly, The Top 100 only contains one board. That's it. If players were hoping to run around jungle terrains, cavernous labyrinths, or Bowser's castle, they're out of luck. Since there is only one board, gameplay quickly becomes monotonous.

But at least the mini-games are fun, right?

Not really. A lot of mini-games don't work with 3DS controls, especially the ones lifted from Mario Party games on the Wii, since they relied on motion controls.

Although Mario Party has had quite a few duds, The Top 100 is inarguably the worst.
