10 Most Disastrous Video Game Launches Of All Time

3. LittleBigPlanet

Littlebigplanet The original create anything and everything popular title before Minecraft strutted its blocky self onto the scene, LittleBigPlanet was a resounding success, eventually. Promising endless content and with a creative community itching to get their hands on it, which is still active today, LittleBigPlanet was attempting something no other game had succeeded in doing, on a console anyway. The game barely touched store shelves when Sony had to issue a mass recall of the title after one forum poster noted that one of the soundtrack songs, Tapha Niang, contained lyrics that consisted of passages from the Quran. Sony, fearing that the Muslims would become offended pulled the millions of copies off store shelves and warehouses to remove the mistake before re-releasing the game a month later. Media Molecule, the British creators of the game had a patch ready to roll out but Sony decided that the correct thing to do was to reprint new discs with the offensive content removed. This slight hiccup in production didn't have any major negative effect on LittleBigPlanet's success as it spawned a successful sequel, with a third game in the series a much sought after title in the PlayStation community.
