10 Disturbing Video Game Secrets Hiding In Plain Sight

5. Mirror Ghost - Hitman: Contracts

The Hitman series is mostly grounded in reality. Although the games have their funny moments or easter eggs, most of Agent 47's missions feel like something that could happen in real life.

This is why this one paranormal easter egg in Hitman: Contracts is that much creepier.

In the mission "Traditions of the Trade," there is a ghost haunting the halls of the hotel where the level takes place.

Unlike other unnatural easter eggs in the game, like UFOs or talking hippos, the ghost doesn't require the player to do something to activate it: it simply appears out of nowhere to spook the player when they least expect it.

The ghost can be seen phasing through walls, standing in hallways, and it can even appear behind you when you stare in a mirror, only to disappear when you turn around.

Each encounter with it is seriously creepy, not only because it knows how to jumpscare you but also because you don't expect to see something like it in a game like Hitman.

The ghost was the first supernatural appearance in the series, and even to this day it's the greatest Hitman mystery.

Which says something considering it's competing for the title with a talking alien hippo.
