10 Dream N64 Games We Need On Nintendo Switch
1. Conker's Bad Fur Day
One of the greatest tragedies of Microsoft’s purchase of Rare was what they did to our lovely, horrid Conker. Bringing Bad Fur Day to Xbox should have been cause to celebrate. This was a cult game of incredible imagination that deserved to be played by far more people.
But the nerds at Microsoft neutered it. They took the bawdy, lavatorial outlier and watered it down, taking out some of the obscenity and even messing with the Great Mighty Poo song. Sure, the gameplay was exactly the same and the visuals improved, but the whole point of Conker was its adolescent naughtiness, the juxtaposition of this sweet squirrel and his potty mouth.
Nintendo has a chance to right these wrongs, both Microsoft’s limp version and their own botched release of the original game. The fates conspired against Conker the first time around - it was released towards the end of N64’s cycle, at a high cost, and without much support from the company.
It’s no exaggeration to say this would be a huge deal were Nintendo to re-release Conker in all its glory. The other alternative is to buy one of the eye wateringly expensive original copies, which is a bit much just for a little swearing.
