10 Dream N64 Games We Need On Nintendo Switch
7. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
Few gaming systems have ever pumped out as many classic platformers as the N64. The shine usually goes to the big franchise players: plumber, bear & bird, gorilla. An underrated player on the platform scene is the spike-haired ninja Goeman, whose first 3D adventure would benefit a whole new modern audience.
Mystical Ninja takes place in feudal Japan, and like all platformers worth their salt, tons of love and care goes into creating as vibrant a world as possible in which players can run, jump, and fight. It’s a funny and inventive game, perhaps lacking the heft of the system’s very finest titles but providing something different in its surreality and charm.
It’s packed with winning, witty dialogue and features a surprisingly deep plot. It was a decent unit shifter at the time, particularly in its native Japan, but the franchise has been at a standstill since 2013. This would be an easy, welcome way to bring it back.
