10 Dream N64 Games We Need On Nintendo Switch
8. WWF: No Mercy
The recent raft of wrestling games have been pretty disastrous. Under the 2K banner, WWE have pumped out basically the same game year upon year, reaching its apex with the buggy, nigh-unplayable 2K20. The next current gen release simply has to be better, but in the meantime we’d love the chance to go back and play arguably the greatest sports entertainment game ever made.
No Mercy may be graphically basic, with blocky characters and charmingly undefined faces, but the game itself still handles like a dream. The moveset had real depth and was intuitive, and demanded of the player far more than simple button bashing.
For its time this was simply a gigantic undertaking, with so many options for customisation, both in terms of the create-a-wrestler modes and your ability to alter the roster of real superstars (if you’ve ever dreamed of dressing up Triple H in a bikini, for example, this is the game for you).
There are numerous lengthy campaigns, fluid multiplayer, and its golden age release means it’s packed with great characters (at least one of which would need to be removed in 2021 for tragic reasons). No doubt there’d be legal license wrangling here, but that’s not for us to worry about.
