4. Punching The Master Emerald So Hard It Shattered - Sonic Adventure 2
Knuckles probably thought he was being smart when he broke the Master Emerald. It's particularly silly that he had been instructed by his elders to protect this jewel for all time. During a confrontation where both Dr. Eggman and Rouge are trying to take the oversized rare mineral to either use as part of their doomsday device, or as the latest fashion accessory.
Since it broke into tiny pieces, Knuckles must now gather all of the Master Emerald shards. However, he's not the only one looking for the missing pieces, as Rouge's levels also have her looking for the jewel bits. It's clear that Knuckles didn't think his plan through and was incredibly lucky that everything works out in the end.
All it took was for Rouge to decide that one or two pieces was enough bling to add to her collection and seal it away in a vault. Knuckles would never have reunited all the pieces of the Master Emerald.
He's incredibly lucky then that Rouge is particularly greedy about jewels.
