Shadow Of The Colossus
2K Games

It's no secret that Spec Ops: The Line is a parallel to Heart of Darkness.

The entire mission begins when Colonel Konrad's platoon goes rogue and your small squad is sent to capture him. As a soldier, Captain Walker's duty is so focused on completing the mission that he's blind to anything else.

Things are not quite as they initially seem and before long we get to a pivotal moment where the squad receive intelligence that the location ahead is heavily guarded. Realising that they would not be able to make it through alone, Walker orders that they use the mortars to launch white phosphorus on the enemy's position.

This is despite the fact that not only are both of his companions are horrified that Walker would even contemplate such a barbaric suggestion, but that the use of chemicals in weapons is banned under several articles of the Geneva conventions.

If that's not bad enough, Walker accidentally breaks a second article of the Geneva convention by murdering civilians. All of this because he didn't want to wait for backup.
