As a spiritual successor to the much loved Dungeons & Dragons Infinity Engine games, Pillars of Eternity faced many expectations, not least of which was the inclusion of a diverse and powerful pantheon. After all, gods meddling in mortal affairs is fertile story material.

Afraid that this knowledge would lead to anarchy the Engwithans manufactured gods by fusing their own souls into magical constructs. The gods, are frauds. But, to add paradox to twist, they can still ruin you day.
