Games: Grand Theft Auto series, Saints Row series Rockstar do a great job of making players feel like a total badass in the Grand Theft Auto series. You can terrify the locals by going on a bloody, pointless rampage, hijack cars whenever you fancy, or even break into a military base to take their jet for a spin. It's a bit of a buzz kill then, when the civilians you've been terrorising for hundreds of hours decide they'd had enough. When law enforcement just isn't enough, occasionally a plucky NPC will take matters into their own hands and plough straight into Nico Bellic or CJ. Bonus embarrassment points if you were just minding your own business when it happened, before a generic red estate smashed in from behind. Seeing the 'Wasted' text never felt worse.
