10 Essential Fixes The PS4 Desperately Needs

1. More Games

For all of its frills, tools and gadgets, there's one "fix" that would see nearly every other current issue with the PS4 rendered irrelevant; just add more games. Within this first year of the PS4 there has been a very slow drip feed of new games coming to the market that could truly maximise the console's early capabilities. In its first months the console's use was restricted to almost nothing but more polished versions of the PS3's yearly releases such as Call of Duty, FIFA and Assassin's Creed. Though obviously superior to their PS3 counterparts, these games scarcely felt like next gen games and so players had to continue to look forward to the prospect of improved titles just over the horizon. Save for a few standouts, however, this horizon still feels as though it's just out of our reach. Despite mixed reviews, there is no denying that Destiny has been a great addition to the PS4's roster, as was Infamous: Second Son and the surprise hit Shadow of Mordor. The fact that this year's second FIFA title to hit the PS4 does feel a lot more like it belongs on a next-gen console offers hope for titles due out before 2014 finishes; the next Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and Batman: Arkham titles looking like they'll follow FIFA's example. These established franchises aren't enough to satisfy PS4 players for much longer however, and there needs to be a serious upturn in the quality and quantity of games hitting the console before too long. What do you think these features would bring to the table, and what would you have added if it were up to you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
