Music makes for such a major magnificence in our lives; it inspires us, instills in us a will to sing and dance, and most importantly, makes games all the greater; this goes double for the stylistic masterpiece that is Persona 5 Royal.

Persona games have always had a fantastic presentation. Still, Royal goes above and beyond, having arguably the best video game soundtrack alongside breathtaking visuals.

But this game isn't just style over substance; it also features one of the best stories in fiction.

You start the game as Joker running through a casino roof while being chased by guards; tension is high from the very beginning, only for everything to reach a crescendo when Joker is captured by police and sent for interrogation. The rest of the game is told through flashbacks, leaving you on edge as you constantly ponder the protagonist’s fate.

The gameplay is some of the tightest you’ll see, with the turn-based combat being so fluid and dynamic that you’ll often forget it’s turn-based and get sucked into the world and characters.

If you have the chance, you should play the Royal version of the game, which adds an entirely new character and a post-game dungeon with the franchise's best story and villain.
