In gaming, some years are far better than others. There are usually at least two or three really exciting games that come out, but right now, 2017 is positively bursting at the seams.
The start of the year is usually a pretty dry period, but there’s already been some fantastic releases, and they’re coming thick and fast all throughout Spring and even further in to the year.
To solidify just how far this generation has come, I've got a list of 10 games - some already out and some yet to come - that you absolutely must give a go this year, if you own a PS4.
There are huge, blockbuster releases, and a handful you may not have heard of. All on this list for a reason though, as they all deserve a look at. At time of writing, this lot are the biggest games we know about, yet we’re only in February, and E3 is a way off yet.
It’s safe to say, we’re in for a very exciting year indeed...
10. Resident Evil 7
The fan favourite spook ‘em up series returns from the grave once more this year with a new numbered installment. There have been a large handful of spin-offs released over the past few years - some considerably worse than others (here’s looking at you, Umbrella Corps) - but 7 sets its events somewhere within the main timeline.
Whilst the game might not focus on any of the established cast, there are more than a few things - like ammo conservation, staggered saves and solving puzzles - that will make you well aware you’re playing Resi.
Also, do you absolutely hate yourself? If so, why not try playing the full game in Playstaion VR?
As you might imagine, having a giant set of futuristic 3D terror goggles clamped to your face at all times makes the game considerably scarier. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to experience being repeatedly stabbed in the face at close range by a decomposing hillbilly?
Honestly, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
